I was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA and have been a life-long member of First Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
Since leaving home after high school, I’ve been blessed to call many beautiful and vibrant places home, including Philadelphia, Buenos Aires, central Mexico, Asheville, New York City and most recently Baltimore. I’m excited to finally be back in Virginia, exploring a new part of my home state!
I studied political science, economics and Spanish at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout college I spent my summers working as a counselor and later area director at Lutheridge Camp outside Asheville, NC. I was also a student leader of an ecumenical protestant campus ministry at Penn called the Christian Association.
Following college, I served as a Young Adult in Global Mission in Tlaxco, Tlaxcala, Mexico where I experienced boundless grace and radical hospitality within my host community. I also traveled to the US/Mexico border for the first time, which deeply impacted my understanding of vocation.
Immediately after returning from Mexico, I moved to New York City to begin seminary at Union Theological Seminary. In my coursework, I focused on the intersection of Christian Social Ethics with Liturgy and Worship, and how our faith communities experience the living Christ and make meaning in that intersection. In seminary I had the great privilege to intern with two different Lutheran ministries--Trinity Lutheran Church/Iglesia Luterana Trinidad and The Vine Citywide Campus Ministry Network. I graduated from Union in May 2019 and have served as vicar of Breath of God Lutheran Church in Southeast Baltimore for the past year.
I have been blessed to be a part of many transformational young adult communities and am passionate about the integral importance of these communities to our broader church. I am thrilled to be accompanying The Well Campus Ministry for this fall and joining you all in ministry in Blacksburg.
