Luther Memorial is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Since its founding in 1886 Luther Memorial has served the Blacksburg community and its land grant university. Originally located directly across the street from the corps barracks of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Luther Memorial continues to minister to all in the academic community of Virginia Tech.
Luther Memorial's concern reaches far beyond the university, welcoming all who live and work in the New River Valley. Through partnership with the Virginia synod and ELCA the congregation engages in ministry far beyond its doors.
